Studio Art: Drawing in French

This art class meets Thursdays at 5:30pm with Roger at our campus, 4522 Prytania Street.

This studio art course suggests a B1 (intermediate) or greater proficiency in French. Your teacher Roger or our educational director Josiane will reach out to you via email to let know you know what materials you’ll need. This course meets for an entire semester beginning on September 17.

Supplies : an art sketchbook or white paper.

                    Pencil #2 + eraser + pencil sharpener.

                    Drawing pen and small jar of ink.

                    Later, a set of brushes and acrylic colors.

Syllabus:

1- Variety of effects with pencil, with plume, with brush, calligraphy.

2-How to make pictures.

3-Volume, perspective, eye level view, hilltop and airplane view.

4- How you can reduce everything to : cube, sphere, cone, cylinder.

5- Theory and practice of painting. How to mix colors.

6- The human being: man, woman and child, head, body and limbs.

7- Animals: how to draw them quickly.

8- How to draw plants, trees, shrubs and flowers.

9- Caricatures.

10- How to draw a nice picture, step by step.
