True beginner, no previous French instruction required. This class is for students who have never taken French or whose French has been all but forgotten. By the end of the course, students can expect to be able to introduce themselves; ask and respond to simple questions; conjugate simple er and ir verbs in the present tense as well as key irregular verbs (avoir, être, faire and aller). Students should also be capable of employing the near future and the recent past tenses.
For Julien’s Wednesday at 5:00PM section, classes will run from Wednesday Jan. 28 to Wednesday May 6 at Lycée Français in the French Quarter (721 St. Phillip Street).
For Roger’s Wednesday at 5:30PM section, classes will run from Wednesday Jan. 28 to Wednesday May 6 at L’Union Française.
For Vendula’s Saturday at 9:00AM section, classes will run from Saturday Jan. 31 to Saturday May 9 at L’Union Française.
There will be breaks for Mardi Gras and Easter.
